I’m Randi, a native New Yorker, Stay-at-Home-Mom, homeschool teacher, and the creator of Surviving Mom Blog. I currently live in Atlanta with my husband, rambunctious 8-year-old daughter, 2 cats, and a very hyper dog.
A bit of backstory; writing has always been my outlet. At 8-years-old I organized and edited a children’s newspaper (unfortunately my fellow journalists were not as enthusiastic, and Kids Weekly was shut down for press after one issue). I turned to the power of pen on paper to help cope with the hardships that took place in my childhood, and I have been published in various websites. Writing has been my constant and helped me become the person and mother that I am today.
Surviving Mom Blog is about my own survival at the hands of an abusive mother, as well as the struggles (and joys) of surviving motherhood. I created this blog to bring words of encouragement to everyone’s individual journey.
I hope you enjoy my posts and what I have to say, and that my words bring you support, humor, validation, and comfort. I think it is important that we have a place where we can feel heard, understood, and welcomed.
Some of what I write about is very serious in nature, and sometimes I poke fun at the hardships of parenting. I want this to be a place where we build each other up instead of tearing each other down. Parenting is hard, so let’s laugh and cry about it together.
Please feel free to contact me to share your own story and struggles, or if you have any suggestions about what you'd like me to write.
